My Love of Soubise - ein Merkmal aus dem spektakulären Rokoko-Interieur des Salon de la Hotel de Soubise in Paris, der großen Residenz des Prinzen von Soubise, der um 1735 umgebaut wurde. Germain Boffrand fügte heimlich sein eigenes romantisches Detail ein, nachdem er dort eine illegale Affäre mit der Frau des Prinzen, der 16-jährigen* Prinzessin von Soubise, Anne Marie Louise, hatte, die im folgenden Jahr auf tragische Weise bei der Geburt starb.
*In Frankreich lag das Heiratsalter bis 1789 bei 12 Jahren für Mädchen

Germain Boffrand secretly added his own romantic detail after having an illicit affair there with the Prince's wife, the 16-year-old* Princess of Soubise, Anne Marie Louise, who tragically died in childbirth the following year.
*In France, the age of marriage was 12 for girls until 1789.
